Quaid-e-Azam Trophy: Mir Hamza star of the show as Tigers dismissed for 46

Karachi Dolphins finished with 307-4 to end opening day 261 runs ahead

KARACHI: Another impressive bowling display by Mir Hamza helped Karachi Dolphins dismiss Multan Tigers for just 46 in 13.5 overs on the opening day of their seventh round fixture of Quaid-e-Azam Gold at the Multan Cricket Stadium.

Hamza ended with figures of 6-16 as Adeel Malik took the other four. Dolphins then took complete control of the match as they ended on 307-4 at stumps, with Rameez Raja Jr scoring 82 off 78 balls.

In another match, Khurram Manzoor scored an unbeaten 111 as PQA made 248-2 against ZTBL, while Umer Amin and Shahzaib Hasan also scored half-centuries.

At the Pindi Stadium, Sami Aslam and Fawad Alam were batting on 101 and 54 respectively at stumps for NBP, who were 238-2 against Wapda.

SNGPL were 209-6 with Khurram Shahzad on 58 as Prince Abbas took three wickets for UBL.

Meanwhile, Naveed Malik and Usman Saeed scored 80 and 78 respectively to help Rawalpindi Rams end the day on 322-7 against Islamabad Leopards.

Taj Wali took four wickets for Peshawar Panthers and Azizullah took two to restrict Lahore Lions to 220-7, while Saad Nasim made 71.

 

Silver edition

Najaf Shah took six wickets to help PIA dismiss PTV for 133, while Ali Imran Pasha took three. At the end of the day’s play, PIA were 113-4 with Faisal Iqbal batting on 26.

The pitch at Iqbal Stadium in Faisalabad seems to be favouring the bowlers as 17 wickets fell on day one. Zahir Siddiqui took six wickets to dismiss Faisalabad Wolves for 76, while Bahawalpur Stags finished the day on 98-7 as Sadat Ali took five.

In another match, Fahadul Haq’s unbeaten 116 helped Lahore Eagles post 255-5.

At the Sports Stadium in Sargodha, SSGC were 285-9 with Muhammad Waqas scoring 76 and Saifullah Bangash 74.

Meanwhile, Abbottabad Falcons scored 229 and the Sialkot Stallions were 42-1 at stumps.

At the NBP Stadium, Karachi Zebras were all-out for 187 as Quetta Bear’s Gohar Faiz took five wickets. Bears were 8-0 at stumps.
