PML-N MPA's education certificate declared fake

The University of Cambridge declares Khwaja Islam's A level certificate as fake and writes to LHC in this regard.

The University of Cambridge on Saturday declared the Advanced levels certificate of Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) MPA Khawaja Islam as fake.

The university also wrote to the Lahore High Court (LHC) in this regard.

MPA Khawaja Islam is the president of PML-N Faisalabad region. He was elected MPA from constituency PP-72 in the 2008 general elections.

The university authorities said that the A-level certificate of the MPA shows that it was granted to him in 1975 while the university had not initiated the programme at that time.

Earlier, Khawaja Islam's intermediate certificate was also found fake.


ECP summons nine parliamentarians

Meanwhile the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) also summoned nine parliamentarians who hold certificates from seminaries on Monday.

The members of National Assembly summoned included Mir Hamdan Bugti and Haji Rozuddin.

From the Punjab Assembly, Ejaz Ahmed and Malik Iqbal Langaryal were summoned, while Yar Muhammad Rind and Abdul Samad Akhunzada were called from the Balochistan Assembly.

Khalifa Abdul Qayyum and Maulvi Ubaidullah from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa were also called while one senator was also named in the list.
