LAHORE: Operations DIG Dr Haider Ashraf on Monday directed all SPs to enforce the Punjab Shops and Security Ordinance 1999 and ask all banks, jewellers and money changers to beef up security. The DIG directed the SPs to ensure that all bank managers hired guards from registered security companies. “Private guards should only be allowed to start performing their duty after they are given clearance by the Special Branch,” Ashraf said. The DIG ordered SPs to get CCTV cameras installed at entrances of banks and jewellery shops.
