Martyred: Shaheed Major Wasif laid to rest

MANSEHRA: Shaheed Major Wasif Shah, who was martyred during the ongoing military operation in North Waziristan Agency, was laid to rest in his ancestral graveyard in Sheikhabad, Mansehra on Monday. Military officers, Baloch Regiment personnel and a large number of locals attended the funeral. A wreath sent by COAS General Raheel Sharif was also placed at the grave. Shah was martyred during a militant attack at Data Khel post in NWA on Sunday. Shah’s father Professor Irshad Hussain Shah, a teacher at Hazara University, told the media that although the loss is irreparable, he is proud that his son laid his life in the line of duty. The 27-year-old shaheed got married three years back and has left behind a two-year-old daughter and a widow.
