Sharif "will be bringing his own car... all other vehicles for (visiting) heads of countries have come from India", said foreign ministry spokesperson Khaga Nath Adhikari.
Adhikari denied the move was a snub specifically targeted at India, whose tense ties with Pakistan have worsened since October over some of the worst cross-border firing in years.
"It's not that they have refused to use an Indian car... when the US president travels, he also brings his own car, it's not an issue," he told AFP.
The South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation summit will see the leaders of Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, the Maldives, Sri Lanka, Nepal, India and Pakistan meet in Kathmandu on November 26 and 27.
Recent exchanges of fire across the de facto border between India and Pakistan in Kashmir, which both countries administer in part but claim in full, have killed at least 20 civilians and forced thousands to flee their homes.
The nuclear-armed neighbours, who have fought two wars over Muslim-majority Kashmir, have traded blame for the upsurge in firing and shelling which started on October 6.
India called off peace talks in August after Pakistan first consulted Kashmiri separatists, a move some saw as a sign of a tougher stance by Prime Minister Narendra Modi's new right-wing government.

All of you guys missed the point. How can you expect the PM of a country with cutting edge car technology (water kit engine) to ride in a technologically inferior car running on Petrol? That would be an insult to the honour and dignity of Pakistani engineering talent.

I think no body was snubbed. If India provide cars to organizers, I am sure there will be some kind of cost associated to it. Now organizers will need one less car from India, and Pakistan is not asking Nepalese to buy a new one for Pakistan King, rather now Pakistani king in addition to shahi cooks, a big delegation of his family etc will also carry his own car bought by Pakistani tax payers. Why not is he less than Obama?

Given the recent escalation of border clashes, it would be natural that NS would NOT feel comfortable using India-provided car, but that's NOT the end of the world -- both sides should hold their horses, and let some sanity to prevail!
Why doesn't Mr. PM use a car owned by Pakistani Embassy there instead of bringing his own car or using Indian provided.

This is no 'snub' to India. The multi-billionaire Prime Minister of Pakistan sees no reason to borrow a luxury limousine from someone else when he can use his own, paid for by the tax payer of Pakistan.
Flush with funds, aren't we Mr. Prime Minister. A sensible choice. Indians could have installed some listening device to pick up private policy and such discussions among PM and his advisors thus getting an advantage. On the other hand, what I would have done is, Use the car provided by Indians but not talk on sensitive issues inside the car or maybe talk and mislead the listener. I hope the intelligence of pakistani govt also debugs the rooms where the PM will stay, debug all meeting rooms, dont forget under the chairs and tables, dont forget behind the ears. It's not that Pakistan has "snubbed" India. India never offered it to Pakistan in first place - India gave the cars on Nepal's behest. For whom Nepalese use the cars is their call.
So in effect Pakistan "snubbed" Nepal - not India.
