Rigging charges: SCBA elections challenged in court

Islamabad High Court Justice Athar Minallah on Friday issued notices to the Attorney General of Pakistan, newly elected Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) President Fazle Haq and the returning officer after the bar election results were challenged citing rigging charges.


Petitioner Abdus Sattar Khan, who was also a candidate for the slot of president, contended that rigging was carried out during counting of votes. He requested the court to issue orders for recounting. The court while issuing notices to the respondents put off hearing till November 17.
