PESHAWAR: Awami National Party (ANP) chief Asfandyar Wali spoke out against Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf chairman on Friday, reminding him to fulfill the promises he made to the youth during last year's elections.

“You made several promises to the youth of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa; you can’t leave without fulfilling your mandate," he said, while addressing party workers in Peshawar.

The ANP chief went on to add, "And as far as we are concerned, we will meet in the elections."

Taking a page out of JUI-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman’s book, Wali also criticised Imran Khan’s “dancing on top of his container.”

“Imran Khan stands on his container and dances, while funeral prayers of 10-20 children are offered in K-P,” he said.

Further, Wali also lashed out at the K-P government for mishandling the internally displaced persons (IDPs) that arrived at Bannu following the launch Operation Zarb-e-Azb.

“How can these people talk about making a ‘Naya Pakistan,’ when they cannot handle situations like these,” the party chief said while addressing party workers in Peshawar, referring to the PTI’s popular slogan.

Earlier on Thursday, at least 22 people, including 12 police officials and 10 IDPs, were injured during a scuffle between the police and IDPs at a ration distribution point in Bannu.

Speaking about the Afghan president’s visit to Pakistan, Wali said, “I pray to God that talks between Afghanistan and Pakistan are successful. A peaceful Pakistan cannot be made without a peaceful Afghanistan."

Asfandyar wali khan is one of the most corrupt politicians in recent time. He basically made KPK his own property, nepotism, greed, waste of resources, violence. the PTI has done more to improve KPK than any previous administration in decades.

It is the democratic right of opposition in KPK to hold the rulers to their promises. This is the only way people can be made accountable and not lie and not deceive the electorate. In the last election PTI and PML got a walkover especially in KPK. It is good to remind the govt that get ready for the next elections and hold their feet to the fire. This is the only democratic and peaceful way to make any progress. It is great to see some parties are still standing against the extremist, fanatic terrorists despite having to bury so many of their leaders. They can only do better in the next elections if they continue to play opposition role and not bring down KPK govt. ANP also has to understand that they cannot win plurality without having electoral alliance with PPP. They are an ideological fit just like PTI and JI are ideologues.
