Live line maintenance: USAID gives equipment to PESCO, IESCO

ISLAMABAD: United States Agency for International Development (USAID) Mission Director to Pakistan Greg Gottlieb handed over tools and maintenance vehicles at a Rawal Grid Station ceremony. The recipients were Peshawar Electric Supply Company (Pesco) and Islamabad Electric Supply Company (Iesco). The event marked the beginning of the Live Line Maintenance’s (LLM) second stage for training for crews from power distribution companies throughout Pakistan. USAID’s Energy Policy Program (EPP) is providing the training, tools and vehicles to enhance the capacity of Pesco and Iesco to work on live power lines. This initiative is part of the US government’s commitment to support the government of Pakistan in making improvements in the energy sector.
