Asma Jahangir nominated for UNESCO award

It was decided by an international jury that Jehangir be presented the award due to her services for human rights.

United Nations Human Rights Organization nominated the recently elected president of the Supreme Court Bar Association, Asma Jahangir for the Unesco award.


Director General of United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (Unesco) nominated Jahangir for the award.

It was decided by an international jury that Jahangir be presented the award due to her services for human rights.

The Unesco award will be conferred on International Human Rights day in Spain.
