Livestock Theft: Cattle thief arrested from market

Police claimed on Monday to have arrested a member of a gang of cattle thieves from Sindh.

BAHAWALPUR: Police claimed on Monday to have arrested a member of a gang of cattle thieves from Sindh. A police spokesman said Liaquat Ali, a resident of Nawab Shah had told them their cattle worth hundreds of thousand rupees were stolen from their farm and was being sold at Sheikh Wahan cattle market near Rahim Yar Khan. He said Kot Samabad raided the market and arrested a man. During investigation, the man confessed to being part of a gang involved in stealing cattle from Sindh and selling them in Rahim Yar Khan. Ali told newsmen that his cattle worth Rs1.1 million rupees was stolen from his farm a few days ago. He said when he went looking for his cattle, he found them on sale at Sheikh Wahan cattle market and informed the police.
