ABBOTTABAD: An infant was critically injured when a house caught fire in a remote village of Galiyat region, police said on Friday. Police officials quoted Rashid, a resident of Maira Mandroch village, saying his wife was busy doing household chores while their nine-month-old daughter Hadia Bibi was playing in a cradle close to a pit of fire. Suddenly, a fire erupted in the kitchen and soon engulfed the entire house. Locals rushed to rescue the infant and shifted her to Ayub Medical Complex, Abbottabad. According to Rashid, the house was completely gutted. Hadia is said to have suffered 75% burn injuries and is in critical condition, said sources at the hospital.
