MNA Shahjee Gul’s cousin returned home on Tuesday morning after his abduction from Jamrud tehsil, Khyber Agency two months ago.


An official of the political administration said Haji Hikmat Afridi, first cousin of Shahjee Gul, was en route to his house when unidentified men kidnapped him and shifted him to an unknown location.


The official added multiple search operations were launched by security forces in Bara, Jamrud and Landikotal subdivisions but there was little progress in locating Afridi. He explained that Afridi’s family later received a call from Afghanistan after which his release was negotiated. He was received at Torkham Border on Tuesday morning by his family.
