LAHORE:

Camp Jail Superintendent Shahram Tauqir Khan dismissed four wardens on Sunday for using mobile phones while on-duty. Officials said Khan had found them using their mobile phones during a surprise visit to various parts of the facility.

Mobile phones were also confiscated from nine prisoners and they were transferred to a chakki (special cell) from the barracks. They were barred from receiving visitors for one month as punishment. Prisons IG Farooq Nazeer has banned the use of mobile phones during duty hours. He has directed all deputy inspector generals and SPs to ensure that the ban is enforced. Jail superintendents and deputy jail superintendents are allowed to use mobile phones.
