Disciplinary action: 3 cops suspended for negligence

Saddar police Superintendent says an inquiry had been ordered against three policemen on duty at the station that day

GUJRANWALA: Three policemen were suspended from service on Sunday after a robbery suspect escaped from Kamoke City police station. A police spokesman told newsmen that Assistant Sub Inspector Muhammad Adnan had arrested the suspect accused of being involved in multiple street crimes on October 23. The ASI brought the suspect with him to the police station. He said the man escaped from police custody overnight. The spokesman said it was believed that the man was not locked up properly and had escaped without facing any resistance from the policemen on duty. Saddar police Superintendent Qarar Hussain Shah told newsmen that an inquiry had been ordered an inquiry against three policemen who were on duty at the station that day. He said further action would be taken against them after the conclusion of the inquiry. He said negligence could not be tolerated. He said policemen should discharge their duties effectively.
