LAHORE:

Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif said on Friday that eradication of polio from the country was a top priority of the government.

In his message on World Polio Day, the chief minister said that every member of the society should play an active role for rooting out polio from the country.

He said that greater efforts were needed to save children from polio. “Polio can only be fully eradicated if citizens joined hands with the government in this endeavour,” he said.

He said that a national action plan for elimination of polio was being implemented and the support of international institutions in this regard was commendable.

The chief minister said that providing a healthy environment for future generations was a collective responsibility of the society.

The chief minister said that the war against polio could not be won if everybody did not do their duties.

Sharif appealed to parents to cooperate with polio workers.

So what were we doing till now ? How the Cm proposes to join those who were not part of the polio vaccination drive rather creating hurdle in the drive stopping/ killing the polio team and spreading rumors about the vaccination. Is there a road map or just the empty slogan/promises without concrete steps.Support / indifference towards radicalization and polio drive are the steps in different direction.
