Iranian border guards fire mortar shells into Pakistani territory
“Iranian border guards fired four mortars at 4:00am on Friday which landed and exploded in open areas in Mashkail,” Assistant Commissioner Mashkail Asghar Syapad told The Express Tribune.
The explosions rocked the Mashkail town and startled locals. However, the back-to-back explosions did not claim any lives and has caused no damage to property said the commissioner.
Security forces and Levies personnel have arrived at the site of the explosions.
In retaliation, Pakistani security forces fired two mortar shells towards the Iranian border, sources said. However, there have been no reports of mortar attacks in Iran.
This is the fourth occasion that Iranian border guards have violated the Pakistani border over the past one week.
Iran had last week killed a Pakistani solider in the Mand area of Balochistan which followed by a raid in Naukundi area of Chagai district. More than 30 troops on six vehicles came two kilometers inside Pakistani territory and raided a house, taking away a vehicle and other belongings from the house.
On Monday, Iran had fired three mortar shells inside Mashkail town which landed and exploded in open areas.
“Iran had increased its border violations,” an official in Mashkail said. “It has become routine in recent months,” he added.
Balochistan Home Department had informed the federal interior ministry regarding the frequent border violations of Iran, while Iran border guards often blame Pakistan for being incapable of maintaining law and order in its bordering areas.
The latest attack came two days after a meeting between Inspector General Frontier Corps Major General Ejaz Shahid and Iranian Border Police Chief General Qasim Razai in Tehran.
FC spokesperson said they had agreed to improve the intelligence sharing and coordination to maintain peace in the region.

Why is it that besides Iran, India and Afghanistan also require to resort to lobbing mortar shells across the border in order to get Pakistan to do her duty of reining in terrorists and behaving in a manner that is required by the comity of nations?

It is not a good idea to be in a country which is in the firing line from all around and unfortunately there is nobody else to blame.

People in Pakistan seems to literally believe what is written on their jingoistic papers. So the general impression is that Pakistan is an innocent peace loving nation with saintly ISI and Army. All their neighbours are villains whose sole existence is to taunt them by firing indiscriminately. Then the saintly army retaliates and the neighbours get scared and stop firing. They should learn English and read reputed newspapers and independent news sources like Wikipedia or encyclopaedias to learn that the whole problem in south Asia and worldwide is created by their rogue mischievous army which was out of control since their independence. It is these trigger happy army who fires indiscriminately at others till they get a few bullets back . Then they go around crying and breast beating. Also they must learn that it was Pakistan and not India who refused to implement the UN resolution which specifically asked for their complete withdrawal from occupied Kashmir before plebiscites

Atleast now pakistanis should know how to stay in their limits or watch neighbouring countries becoming more and more angry.
Pakistan is center of terror groups all over world. I hope Nawaz govt destroys all terrorists groups( whether they are pro or against govt of pakistan) in east as well as west border. All neighbors of pakistan are suffering because of these terrorist, be it be india, iran, afghanistan or china. Those who think there can be good or bad terrorists are delusional.
