PESHAWAR:

Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) Governor Mehtab Abbasi on Thursday said the establishment of an economic corridor between Pakistan and China is key to boosting economic activity in the region.

Talking to a delegation at Governor House, Mehtab said Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif is to inaugurate the motorway project linking Burhan to Havelian, Abbottabad and Mansehra in the coming month. He added this would be the first step towards establishing the Pak-China corridor. The governor added the prime minister would inaugurate the project before his upcoming visit to China.

The governor maintained besides being vital for economic activity, the project was also of strategic importance. He claimed it could be completed in two years instead of the stipulated time period of three years.
