LoC violation: Pakistani forces respond to ‘unprovoked firing’ by BSF at Nakial sector

SIALKOT: Pakistani troops have befittingly responded to to unproved firing by the Indian forces at the Nakial sector at Line of Control (LoC) this evening, according to Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR).

It was the third ceasefire violation by the Indian troops today.

Earlier, the Indian Border Security Forces (BSF) resorted to ceasefire violation in Shakargarh and Charwah sector on Thursday morning.

Indian troops fired at Pakistan's Ashraf Shaheed check post from the Naryan check post, Express News reported.

The Chenab Rangers effectively responded to the firing -- which has continued for two hours -- targeting the civil population in villages.

No deaths or injuries have been reported.

The attack comes a day after Director General Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Asim Bajwa said, “We want peace with India, but we will retaliate when there is a violation."

Further, amidst the unabated ceasefire violations by the Indian troops along the LoC and working boundary, lawmakers hit out at New Delhi for its hostile posturing and raised the spectre of a nuclear war in the region.

Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) MNA Shazia Marri said, “This is the time we respond to India as a nuclear state.” India claims to be the largest democracy of the world, but looking at the rampant and flagrant violations of human rights in Kashmir by Indian troops “we can call it a sham democracy,” she added.

“It’s a fact that we cannot change our neighbours – but living peacefully is a shared responsibility.”

I don't understand why the Indian people think that Pakistan is lying about LoC cease fire violations by the Indian armed forces? Are the Indian people really that gullible?

We've tried bilateral talks, India responded with mortar shelling. We've tried raising the issue at the UN, India refuses UNMOGIP investigation. The UNSC has passed resolutions that India is in clearly violating.

India is the bully here, not Pakistan. Time to show that you are matured democratic nation, sit down with us and talk about it... but if you keep shelling civilians across the working boundary in Sialkot or across the LoC in Kashmir, we will have no choice, except to return fire.

Our DGMO asked for a meeting between the commanders on-ground and India refused. You tell us what would like to do? I mean, Modi has been pretty clear on the matter, keep firing at Pakistan (in violation of the cease-fire agreement), and keep ignoring their requests for a peaceful end to this conflict.

There are reports that India is trying to shift the LOC slowly under the cover of firing, and slowly eat up Pakistan's territory in Azad Kashmir. Pakistan must be vigilant against this.
