The former Test captain has come under fire for his apparent failure to deliver suitably in the challenging dual role as the cricket team continues to be plagued by inconsistent results.
Moin is expected to be relieved of the task of managing the team and asked to concentrate wholly on selection matters.
The BoG is also expected to review Pakistan’s woeful run against Australia in the ODIs staged in the UAE earlier in the month.
The ensuing ODI captaincy debate is also likely to come under discussion as the members contemplate captain Misbahul Haq’s form leading up to next year’s World Cup.
BoG to select candidate for ICC presidency
The BoG is also set to choose a candidate who will take over as the next president of the International Cricket Council (ICC).
During the annual meeting of ICC officials held in Melbourne last June, Pakistan was awarded the right of selecting the next president of the game’s governing body.
An official close to the matter told The Express Tribune that a few names were under consideration, but a former board chairman was likely to be selected for the post as Pakistan hopes to get some clout in important ICC decisions.
The Pakistan nominee will succeed the incumbent president, Bangladesh’s Mustafa Kamal, in 2016. After the introduction of a chairman’s post, the president has most of its powers curtailed. However, the post remains symbolically important in the ICC framework.
By installing a president for the two-year tenure, the PCB is seeking improvement in its relations with the ICC members along with the possibility of inviting foreign teams for cricketing tours.
