Labourer's target killing: One suspect killed, another injured in police operation

Police have also rounded up several suspects in connection with the killings

QUETTA: One suspect was killed, and another wounded during a search operation launched by police in Ramzan Marri Ghot near Sakran area of Lesbela district to trace the culprits involved in targeted killings of labourers on Sunday.

Gunmen abducted 11 labourers on Sunday morning - eight of them were shot dead while one was injured.

The dead bodies of the deceased were sent to their ancestral towns in Punjab.

Subsequently, police have launched a search operation in Ramzan Marri ghot, a few kilometres away from the crime scene.

“There was an exchange of fire between police and the armed group. A man was killed and another wounded in the encounter,” sources said.

The deceased suspect was identified as Abdul Sattar, the injured as Nadir, who is in the custody of police.

While the search operation in Marri Ghot is still underway; police have rounded up several suspects in connection with the killings.

The Express Tribune made several attempts to contact DPO Lesbela Bashir Ahmed Bravi for comment but to no avail.

The DPO had constituted an investigation team comprising Additional SP Hub Zia Mandokhail, SHO Hub and in charge Hub CIA. The team will submit its report in the next three days.
