Whisked away: Cattle worth Rs1m stolen

Bandits thrash and tie up two men with a rope before taking away the truck and animals

NOWSHERA: A truck loaded with cattle worth Rs1 million was stolen early Saturday morning from Dagai area of Pabbi tehsil, Nowshera. Police official Shaukat Khan said the incident occurred at around 4:00am. He added Hasnain, a resident of Bhalwal, Sargodha filed a case with the police, claiming he was transporting 13 animals, including cows and buffaloes, to the Peshawar cattle market. The complainant said that when they reached a secluded area in Pabbi, unknown men intercepted them at gunpoint. The bandits thrashed and tied up the two men with a rope before taking away the truck and animals. Further investigation is under way.
