LAHORE:

Railway Minister Khwaja Saad Rafique said on Monday former Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) president Javed Hashmi had upheld the politics of principles despite losing Thursday’s by-election in Multan.

In a statement, the minister accused PTI chairman Imran Khan of backing status quo by supporting Amir Dogar in Thursday’s vote.

“The election has once again exposed the double standards of the PTI. On one hand they have announced resignations from the Provincial and National Assemblies; and on the other they took part in the by-polls,” Rafique said.

He said the PTI’s October 10 public meeting was part of its canvassing against Hashmi.
