8 militants killed in Khyber Agency clashes

Security forces also destroy militant hideout in Agency's Aka Khel area

KHYBER AGENCY: Eight militants were killed in clashes with security forces in Khyber Agency, Express News reported on Friday.

Sources said that a hideout of the militants was also destroyed during the clashes, which took place in the Aka Khel area of the agency.

Yesterday, as many as 21 suspected terrorists were killed in air strikes in the Khyber Agency’s Tirah Valley as part of Zarb-e-Azb operation, the military had said in a statement released the same day. Five terrorist hideouts were also destroyed in the precise aerial strikes.

On October 15, at least five people were killed and seven injured in a suicide attack targeting members of a peace committee in a remote valley of Khyber Agency. The suicide bomber had walked up to a checkpoint manned by volunteers of a local peace committee in the Peer Mela area of Tirah Valley and detonated explosives strapped to his body.
