PTI, PAT damaging economy for political gains: Khawaja Asif
Addressing a press conference in Islamabad, Asif said the economy has suffered losses of billions of dollars because of the protests.
Calling political leaders to play their role in nation-building, the defence minister emphasised that safeguarding national interest was the job of every politician.
PTI and PAT supporters have been protesting in the federal capital since August 14 against the current Pakistan Muslim League - Nawaz (PML-N) government. Until few days back, major areas of Islamabad were blocked with containers for security reasons due to which many businesses suffered great losses.
Chinese head of state had also postponed his trip to Pakistan reportedly due to these protests. The PML-N government had claimed this delay in visit has in result delayed many economic projects.

Again, the government only talk about issues that are not important. We do not want to listen about PTI and PAT in each and every parliament session and speech. for God’s sake talk about issues that really matter like poverty, education and terrorism. PML-N led government has done absolutely nothing to improve education in the country, in fact read media articles education budget was reduced in last budget. Similarly, nothing for the poor people as well. These politicians are really only brainwashing the public. A free thinking Pakistani public which questions the government’s performance is what they fear the most.

Who stops you to sign agreement? Go to China and sign agreement, every where you go and waste millions of rupees, if you do visit for investment no one will stop you. Don't put blame of your failures on IK. If your were so concerned you did efforts to resolve political impasse.
Can we ask Kh Asif Sb. If dharnas were so damaging for the country than why Govt. didn't take any measures to remove these sit-ins, we were regularly hearing from officials that they are only few thousand / hundred people in the dharnas who can never force PML(N) govt to meet their demand even if they are justified........now how come after 2 months these few hundred who were unable to influence govt are influencing our economy to this much extent stated by our honorable minister.

what about the lies you and NS said in assembly? why it took you so long? When banks are offering interest on dollar 1-2% why you have to offer 15.7%. today the change is 8.3 paisa/unit but tom due to increase in dollar rate, it will be more. If these are hydral, it will be minor effect but if its power plant which already are producing electricity at hi rate, effect will be more btw any one from your/NS family involved - since you are champion of conflict of interest?
