SARGODHA:
Five members of a family were shot dead on Thursday by rivals in Kot Momin. Kot Momin police said that five members of the Gondal family, residents of Kot Raja, were travelling in a car towards Bhalwal to attend a court hearing. “When they reached Jhaal, men from the rival Jahangir group opened fire on them. As a result of the firing, Ejaz, Ghulam Hussain, Zafar Iqbal, Naveed Akhtar and Touqeer died on the spot. The attackers then fled,” police said. Police said the deceased had earlier murdered a man, Arshed alias Shama of Kot Raja, in 2013. Police have taken the bodies to the Bhalwal district headquarters hospital for post mortem examination.
