SHANGLA:

The ruling Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz suffered a major setback on Thursday when a close relative of former PML-N MPA Fazalullah Pir Mohammad Khan joined Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf along with his activists.

Javed Ali, the former MPA’s cousin, announced he, his relatives and followers were joining PTI at a public rally held in Puran, Shangla. Speaking at the gathering, Ali said he was joining PTI because he was satisfied with the performance of the PTI-led government in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa and the policies of Imran Khan.

In his address, former provincial minister and PTI MPA Shaukat Ali Yousafzai highlighted his party’s achievements, saying it had become the most popular political force in the country. “People want Nawaz Sharif and his associates to leave,” said Yousafzai.

Yousafzai also criticised Adviser to the PM, Amir Muqam, who hails from Shangla, holding him responsible for underdevelopment of the district. A number of PTI stalwarts including Swat MPA Fazal Hakim Khan, Mahmood Khan, Raham Zada Khan and Dr Abid also spoke on the occasion.
