Get the look: Go nuts over net

One of the season’s leading trends is embroidered net, as was evident in designer showcases at this year’s PFDC L’Oréal Paris Bridal Week (PLBW). On the international front, celebrities such as Keira Knightley are also setting red carpets ablaze in net.  We love Knightley’s old-world glamour and her look at the ongoing BFI London Film Festival is testament to her classy persona. Her ensemble is one you can replicate for a close friend’s reception this shaadi season in Pakistan. Here’s how you can get her look.

Hair

Knightley exudes sophistication by sporting soft and natural-looking side-swept curls. Get the look by prepping wet hair with Vidal Sassoon Pro Series Colour Gloss Crème and scrunch the ends for soft waves and a textured finish, finishing it off with a blow-dry.

Outfit

Knightley wore a luxe embroidered gold-laced tiered Valentino gown from the brand’s fall 2014 couture collection. You can easily find net at Ashiana in Karachi or Liberty Market in Lahore. Since net is usually available in white, you may have to get the fabric dyed to get the right shade. Markets such as these also offer options for embroidery and embellishments. So, pick your friend up and go on a shopping spree.

Make-up

The actor kept her make-up fresh and minimal. She wore a hint of blush on her cheeks and a slick of pink lipstick. Try Rimmel’s Natural Bronzer, which gives your face a sun-kissed glow and the perfect highlight to your cheekbones, and Maybelline’s Master Glaze in Pink Fever for rosy cheeks. To get the shade of Knightley’ lips, try Mac’s Tinted Lipgloss in Angel, a warm pink with pearl. She kept her eyes bare with lots of mascara. Lash-lengthening mascara by Benefit would be a good, affordable option for you.

Accessories

Knightley chose to couple her gold dress with a pair of loud red suede Charlotte Olympia ‘The Lady is a Vamp’ pumps. Such shoes can be found at Pedro and Charles and Keith outlets. The actor killed it with those breathtaking David Morris earrings, the chandelier-shaped diamond danglers can easily be purchased at an artificial jewellery store in a local market.
