
The price for a domestic cylinder has been increased by Rs100 and the price for a commercial cylinder has been increased by Rs400, said a statement by LPG Distributors Association chairman Irfan Khokhar.
In Muzaffarabad, Kashmir and FATA the new price is Rs150 per kg, and Rs120 per kg in Lahore, Multan and Bahawalpur, while it is being sold for Rs115 per kg in Peshawar.
Gas shutdown in Faisalabad
Despite protests by industrialists, the government failed to stick to its promise and announced shutting down of gas supply for two days in a week in Faisalabad.
According to a schedule issued in a notice by officials, gas supply will be shut down down to more than 450 factories on Monday and Tuesday, effective from tomorrow. Gas supply will remain closed to factories for three days of Eid as well.
The government had previously agreed to shut down supply only one day every week. The new schedule is expected to effect the textile industry and with a chance of thousands of workers going jobless.
