MULTAN: PML-N workers took a page out of PTI's playbook on Thursday when they gathered outside a hotel in Multan to target AML chief Sheikh Rasheed with their very own 'Go Imran Go' chantExpress News reported.

Not only did the PML-N workers chant 'Go Imran Go' -- an altered version of the more popular 'Go Nawaz Go' slogan -- the large crowd even attempted to force their way into the hotel.

The PML-N supporters were seen writing Imran's name on the road and egging it. Later, PTI supporters gathered at the spot in a bid to disperse PML-N supporters.

The Awami Muslim League leader was scheduled to hold a press conference at the press club ahead of PTI's rally in the city tomorrow.

"I am not a coward. I will stay here," Express News quoted Sheikh Rasheed as saying after the incident. Police arrived shortly after the situation got out of hand. However, it is unclear whether attempts to calm the fired-up protesters have been successful.

“Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif is behind this incident,” said the AML leader, who is closely allied to PTI. He went on to add that the premier would be held responsible if anything happened to him.

“My war is with the prime minister, not the premier’s children,” Rasheed said.

“The media knows who they [the protesters] are, I do not have to name them. They are familiar faces,” Rasheed said, adding that the police also supported the protesters.

The Awami Muslim League leader also spoke about Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Imran Khan’s rally which is scheduled to be held in Multan tomorrow. “Tomorrow, Imran will hold the biggest rally.”

He said the public is sick and tired of the current system, adding that the chant ‘Go Nawaz Go’ has become a national chant.

Later, while speaking to Express News the AML chief added that PML-N workers stopped chanting at him, when workers of the AML and PTI intervened.

Additionally, PTI leader Tariq Naemullah was also harrassed by PML-N workers when he was crossing by the area in his vehicle. The charged up mob tried to stop his car and attack it. The police, however, were successful in keeping the PML-N workers away from the vehicle and allowing Naemullah to pass through.

Defending his supporters, a PML-N worker, Bilal Butt, said his workers have left the area and did not resort to violence.

This is what happens when you speak the truth about one's activities. If the courts are slow, limp, and justice is warped, the favorite political leaders expose the culprits, which are PMLN and PPP. GO NAWAZ GO! GO PPP GO! Salams
