MATTA: Awami National Party’s (ANP) General Secretary Mian Iftikhar Hussain on Wednesday said the entire country has observed the criminal silence over the target killings of ANP workers. “They (the government) must understand that soon they will also be the target of terrorists,” he said while speaking to the media at the condolence reference of Ashraf Khan, a local leader of ANP and a village defence committee member. Khan and a policeman were killed by unidentified men in a targeted attack on October 5. Hussain said ANP workers are being punished for supporting security forces in the war against terrorism. “Our 276 workers have been killed in Swat alone and up to 850 have been killed in the country,” he said. Hussain warned that soon his party would chalk out a comprehensive strategy against the wide scale killings of the party workers and would not bear the violence silently anymore.
