Fighting crime: Four suspects arrested by law enforcers

Employees of a local beverage company were rescued from their kidnappers by police in Lyari

KARACHI: An alleged target killer and two alleged extortionists were arrested during snap checking in Garden. The arrested target killer was identified as Obaid, while the extortionists as Iqbal and Omar. Police officials also claim to have seized weapons from their possession.

Meanwhile, the employees of a local beverage manufacturing company were rescued by the police shortly after they were abducted by a gang in Lyari. They were rescued after an exchange of fire with the police and the kidnappers.

SHO Haji Sanaullah said that the encounter took place when the gangsters were shifting the kidnapped persons to their hideout, adding that police reached the site and managed to rescue both the abductees, Qasim and Wali Muhammad.

A police constable, Rana Babar, was also wounded in the exchange of fire while there were also reports that two gangsters were killed in the encounter. SHO Sanaullah said that the police was still trying to ascertain whether the gangsters were killed or not.

On Super Highway, Rangers claim to have arrested a militant of a banned outfit during a series of targeted raids in Quetta Town, Sohrab Goth. The paramilitary force personnel claim to have seized weapons from his possession. The accused was shifted to an undisclosed location for further questioning.
