Objection overruled: LHC to hear plea on PM’s visits abroad

Barrister Javed Jafri, the petitioner, said the objection was not in public interest

LAHORE: Justice Mansoor Ali Shah of Lahore High Court (LHC) on Thursday overruled an objection by the registrar’s office a petition regarding Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s foreign visits. Barrister Javed Jafri, the petitioner, said the objection was not in public interest. Justice Shah accepted the petition for hearing saying that it was of great public interest.  The petition will be heard after Eid. Barrister Jafri has objected to Sharif and his family’s visits onboard a special aircraft and his stays at expensive hotels. Barrister Jafri has requested the court to place the names of Sharif and his family on the Exit Control List.
