PARACHINAR: Shopkeepers and traders in Parachinar, Kurram Agency urged the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Authority (SMEDA) to work towards helping small businesses who are yet to be given support.

SMEDA had helped traders and shopkeepers in Parachinar bounce back after they faced huge losses caused by ongoing militancy in the region.

According to Haji Kamal Hussain, the president of a shopkeeper union, their shops and businesses had been shackled by militancy in the region.

Most shopkeepers and traders faced severe financial losses and were forced to live from hand to mouth. At this critical stage, the only help they received was from SMEDA, he added. Hussain lauded the joint efforts made by Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Governor Mehtab Abbasi and SMEDA and urged them to continue the venture.
