LANDI KOTAL: Jailed by Afghan authorities for five months, Pakistani television reporter Faizullah was finally released and warmly welcomed back home at the Pak-Afghan border at Torkham on Monday.

Khyber Agency Political Agent Shahab Ali Shah, Faizullah’s family and the presidents of several press clubs were present to greet him.

Faizullah, who was working for ARY News, said he would never forget the warm welcome from Pakistani authorities, fellow journalists and the public.

While speaking at Landikotal Press Club, he recalled he was not mistreated in any way during his five months in an Afghan jail.

Faiz mentioned there were a large number of Pakistanis in Afghan jails and vowed to raise a voice for their release at every available forum.
