Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaaf's (PTI) president Shah Mehmood Qureshi is ready to lend support for the creation of new provinces in the country. He said that a committee of experts should be formed to undertake the task.
He didn't, however, express approval for the Muttahida Qaumi Movement's demand for a division of Sindh.
"The new provinces should be created according to the wishes of the people," he said while talking to the media on Sunday at Lal Shahbaz Qalandar's shrine in Sehwan.
The issue of creating one or more provinces in Sindh has always been vehemently rejected by the Sindhi population. Mainstream political parties like Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), factions of Pakistan Muslim League and even the religious political parties have always opposed any change in the province's geographical status.
He said that PTI Chairman Imran Khan will visit Sindh after his public meetings in Lahore and Multan.

Mr. Quresh, be very wise in talking about the creation of new provinces in Pakistan. Please confine your wish up to yourself. The people of Sindh have expressed opposition tooth and nail for the division of Sindh, and anyone, who talks about division of Sindh, shall find no space for politics in Sindh. If PTI wants to succeed and become a political party having influence in all four provinces of Pakistan, please do not impose your personal wish on Sindhi people. Please note that division of Sindh shall tantamount to break-up of Pakistan, and the people of Sindh, will be forced to quit the agreement of 1940, when they showed their consent to support Pakistan. A small section of migrant people, who have not yet assimilated, are the only one talking about division of Sindh, and if they wish, they have the choice to opt for their repatriation to India to reclaim their own identity in UP, which is the home of Urdu people.
