Drone strike kills two suspected militants in South Waziristan
"A US drone fired two missiles at a vehicle and at least two militants were killed and one was wounded," a senior security official told AFP on condition of anonymity.
"The militants had just parked their vehicle outside the main gate of a compound and had asked for drinking water from inside. Just when they were drinking water standing on the road, drones fired two missiles."
Their identities were not known but initial information indicated that they were not locals, the official added.
A militant source who called AFP from an unknown location also confirmed the missile strike and casualties.
This is the second drone strike this month and the first in the South Waziristan Agency this year.
On September 24, at least 10 suspected militants, including foreign fighters, were killed and two injured in a US predator strike in North Waziristan Agency.
Pakistan routinely protests against drone strikes, which have been targeting militants in the tribal areas since 2004, saying they violate its sovereignty and are counter-productive in the fight against terror.
There has been a considerable decline in the number of predator strikes in the tribal regions since US President Barrack Obama approved new guidelines for the use of lethal drones.

August 6 - A drone strike in the Datta Khel area of North Waziristan left six people dead and two others injured.
July 19 - A drone strike targeting a Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) compound killed 15 suspected militants in North Waziristan.
July 16 - A US drone strike killed at least 24 suspected terrorists, including 18 foreign militants, in an alleged militant compound in the Datta Khel area of North Waziristan.
July 10 - Drone strike in Datta Khel area of North Waziristan killed seven people and injured three others.
June 18 – At least six militants were killed in Miramshah, North Waziristan.
June 11 – Two successive drone strikes reportedly killed around 16 people and injured few others in Miramshah. This was the year’s first drone strike after a six-month lull. The previous drone attack on Pakistani soil occurred on December 25, 2013 in the Qutab Khel area of Miramshah, killing four suspected militants.

Why isn't Imran Khan protesting the drone strikes as in the past? Is it because the 'third umpire' told him not to?

Pakistan Ambassador to USA said Pakistan had 175,000 troops committed to N Waziristan offensive - and you get almost no news and apparently not many Taliban killed/captured. Kudos to the USA for suspending the drone attacks allowing the IK magical solution of negotiating with the Taliban to be exposed for the simplistic nonsense it was - and kudos to the American for restarting the campaign and helping eliminate these terrorist who apparently still roam free in S Waziristan.
Imran cannot say anything by himself. Condemnation of Drone attacks has been omitted by script writers.

Where is Imran Khan? As usual, he seems to have taken a U-turn from his previous policy of criticizing drone attacks.
