Preston university: Student heckles minister with ‘go Nawaz go’ chant

Minister asks university administration to give student counselling

Our Correspondent September 25, 2014

ISLAMABAD:

The administration of the Preston University was left red faced when one of its students chanted “Go Nawaz Go” during the speech of Planning Minister Ahsan Iqbal.

The minister was addressing the launching ceremony of Dr Azizur Rehman’s book The True Face of Islam. The registrar of the university H W Baloch came on the stage and said “take this student out of the hall”.

The federal minister continuing his speech wondered “what sort of political training is this that such slogans are raised in a literary gathering.” Later talking to the Daily Express the minister said youth are our assets and he has asked the university administration to give that young man some counselling.

asking the student to leave the audience in one thing but kicking student out of school is fascism at worst and bootlicking at least. What kind of subliminal message are students being taught, shut and obey otherwise you are kicked out. Either you are with corrupt system or you are against it, there is no middle ground.
