LAHORE:

The Lahore High Court registrar’s office on Wednesday objected to a petition seeking arrest of those nominated in the second FIR of the Model Town violence.

The FIR was registered on the complaint of Minhajul Quran. Advocate Ishtiaq Chaudhry of Pakistan Awami Tehreek said police were not arresting those nominated in the FIR.  He said most of those nominated held public offices and were trying to influence the investigation. He asked the court to direct police to arrest them. The registrar’s office told him to provide documents in support of the petition.
