In mourning: KU remains closed for third day
They appealed to arrest the killers and improve the law and order situation in the city.
KARACHI:
For the third consecutive day, Karachi University remained closed to mourn the death of its Islamic Studies faculty dean Prof Dr Shakil Auj. A noted scholar and a celebrated author, Auj was murdered by target killers on Thursday on the University Road. Police have arrested three suspects and investigations are under way. However, political and social leaders, students and teachers have expressed dismay over the frequent killings of professionals, such as doctors, lawyers and teachers, in Karachi. They said that two teachers of the Islamic Studies faculty were killed in the city in a span of only one week. They appealed to arrest the killers and improve the law and order situation in the city.
