MULTAN:

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) vice chairman Shah Mehmood Qureshi withdrew an application against the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) workers who allegedly attacked his residence last month.

Talking to media outside his home, he said he wanted to promote Sufism and peace in the country’s politics, and would not pursue the case against the district leadership of PML-N. “Our war is not with personalities but with corruption and status quo in the country and I have no personal enmity with any political leader,” he added.

On August 20, PML-N workers staged a protest outside Qureshi’s house where a stick wielding mob pounded the residence’s main gate. Seventeen members of PML-N, including the district president Bilal Butt, were nominated in an FIR.

Bilal Butt, nicknamed Billu Butt by his opponents, said while speaking to the The Express Tribune “it is a just decision as we were never part of any attack on the house of Shah Mehmood Qureshi … In fact there was no attack on the residence and it was only a massive demonstration against him for initiating a campaign to derail democracy in the country.”

@bahaha - please come out of your lalaland. so Chinese premier cancels trip to Pakistan - allegedly worth billions of dollars - because these few thousand protesters are occupying a patch of street? seriously? it isnt even clear whether it was business worth billions or loans.

Stop making stuff up out of your empty head..saari development in 35 days main honee thee? What was PMLN doing for the past three decades?

the impasse is because of one and one person only - Nawaz Sharif - denying recount to PTI for more than a year in 4 constituencies and now he is so wounded politically that even if he comes out of this he will never regain the political stature he had before.
