Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) vice chairman Shah Mehmood Qureshi withdrew an application against the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) workers who allegedly attacked his residence last month.
Talking to media outside his home, he said he wanted to promote Sufism and peace in the country’s politics, and would not pursue the case against the district leadership of PML-N. “Our war is not with personalities but with corruption and status quo in the country and I have no personal enmity with any political leader,” he added.
On August 20, PML-N workers staged a protest outside Qureshi’s house where a stick wielding mob pounded the residence’s main gate. Seventeen members of PML-N, including the district president Bilal Butt, were nominated in an FIR.
Bilal Butt, nicknamed Billu Butt by his opponents, said while speaking to the The Express Tribune “it is a just decision as we were never part of any attack on the house of Shah Mehmood Qureshi … In fact there was no attack on the residence and it was only a massive demonstration against him for initiating a campaign to derail democracy in the country.”

@bahaha - please come out of your lalaland. so Chinese premier cancels trip to Pakistan - allegedly worth billions of dollars - because these few thousand protesters are occupying a patch of street? seriously? it isnt even clear whether it was business worth billions or loans.
Stop making stuff up out of your empty head..saari development in 35 days main honee thee? What was PMLN doing for the past three decades?
the impasse is because of one and one person only - Nawaz Sharif - denying recount to PTI for more than a year in 4 constituencies and now he is so wounded politically that even if he comes out of this he will never regain the political stature he had before.
Mature decision.....a good general picks his battles carefully.
Shah Sab wanted to promote Sufism and peace in the country’s politics!!! and what about economy? just because of your politics dollar rate is on Rs.103. new energy projects MOUs with China which should be singed, still on pending, Shah Sab please be realistic and speak trut. please don not talk about status quo in the country because we all know your living standers.
I have tears in my eyes, How saint...
Ch. Allah Daad..please have some shame and for God's sake stop lying blatantly.....how does occupying one single patch of road in Islamabad - without even halting the city's usual activities - bring damages worth billions? Was all of country's progress supposed to take place in these 35 days only?
Protesting peacefully against injustices damages the country's reputation but can you explain how PML-N is NOT damaging the country or its reputation when it does the following:
Use of state machinery to kill 14 civilians in broad daylight in model town Using Punjab Police to UNLAWFULLY arrest 100s of protesters without trial Using Punjab Police to beat anchors, reporters and cameramen to deter them from giving transparent coverage. Sitting in govt in some capacity for the past 30 years (1985, 1993, 1997, 2008, 2013), yet 'Showbaz Sharif' wears those rubber boots every year and stands in water for a photo session - why did it not do anything to counter the damage caused by flooding. 2010 it happened, 2014 it happened - both times they were in power and they didn't build any dams, barrages.@ Ch.: "Crimes"? Really? And would you mind presenting evidence how Shah Sb or for that matter PTI has worsened Pakistan's reputation, economy and international relations beyond where they already were?
You are wrong, if you expect that in goodwill gesture government will also withdraw cases which are against you. Your crimes are not against a political party or few political workers. You have damaged Pakistan's reputation, economy and international relations. These cases will follow you and rest of PTI's leadership for rest of their lives.
