Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan, atop his container on Tuesday, told Chief Justice Nasirul Mulk that by not taking notice of police brutality in Islamabad, he was opening a path to a bloody revolution.

Addressing his supporters in the federal capital, Imran called on the chief justice to take notice of police arresting PTI workers for attending the anti-government sit-ins.

“The people of this nation will not tolerate injustices any longer,” said Imran.

As he began his address, the chief outlined the events of the night when he made the police release his arrested workers who he claimed were unlawfully held. Imran said the police told him they were arresting his supporters on the grounds of “attending the sit-ins”.

“I want to say that you now have the responsibility of saving Pakistan’s democracy,” the chief addressed Mulk.

Imran questioned Supreme Court, high courts and judges whether or not it was their job to protect the fundamental rights of the people. He added that this country is escalating towards civil war and destruction.

He went on to say that he was now finding it difficult to stop his supporters as they are angered by the police and are prepared to go against them under any circumstances.

“Nawaz Sharif and Shahbaz Sharif are taking this country to destruction. They have stolen from this country, they have evaded tax. How do they have all this money? They are destroying the democracy of this nation to save their money,” Imran accused.

Imran warned that the current situation was going towards bloodshed.

“Pakistan has changed now and people will not tolerate this anymore. They know their rights and have awoken. You are only leaving them one way and that one way is to fight. I can see their anger. People hate the police and nobody wants to see their faces,” the chief declared.

He then warned Inspector General (IG) Islamabad, Tahir Alam Khan that the police would not be able to hide anywhere.

PTI chief repeatedly requested the chief justice to save this country from bloodshed and civil war and to save the police from being hated by the nation. “To save your seats, do not misuse the power of the police,” he added.

Towards the end of his speech, Imran Khan appealed to the government to remove containers to let people live their lives normally and also to re-open schools, as per court orders.

Concluding his address, Imran urged his supporters to come out on Friday and emphasised that this large number of people will break attendance records and make history.

PTI chief will be addressing his supporters again this evening.

The state institutions should play their role as per the rule and law of country. The fear of being bias should not stop them from taking decisions which are based on supremacy of country law otherwise they will loose the credibility which is already going down by every passing day. The wait and see will make this country a failed state.
