KARACHI: Around 150 water tankers of 2,000 gallons each are being provided free-of-charge every day to the cattle market in Sohrab Goth so that the animals are protected from diseases that arise from water shortage, said Rana Imran, the administrator of the Maweshi Mandi, Sohrab Goth. Despite the increasing number of sacrificial animals, water supply is more than the demand, he said. Meanwhile, Cantonment Board Malir (CBM) has distributed water drums to the cattle merchants to store the water. The CBM representatives said that it is now the responsibility of the cattle merchants to keep their animals healthy by giving them sufficient drinking water.
