Coke Studio 7 to kick-off from September 21

The show was earlier scheduled to start on September 7.

The seventh edition of the highly-anticipated music show, Coke Studio, which had been postponed earlier this month is all set to begin on September 21.


It is rumoured that the decision to delay Coke Studio season 7 had been taken in light of the current political crisis within the country as previously, the show was expected to start  on September 7.

The new season marks the debut of Strings duo Bilal Maqsood and Faisal Kapadia as producers they have taken up the responsibility after Rohail Hyatt vacated the role following the sixth season of the popular show.

There are also a host of changes in the house band for the upcoming season with Ahad Nayani on drums, Imran Akhoond on guitars and Khalid Khan on bass. In addition to having featured artists in each episode, the show will also be including a variety of guest musicians.

Notable musicians, such as Aamir Zaki, Hamza Jafri, Shallum Xavier, Tanweer Hussain and Omran Shafique to name a few, would be appearing on Coke Studio 7 as guest musicians.

Several renowned artists and musicians would be appearing on the show to create a new dimension to this season with their signature sound. Artists, such as Usman Riaz, Asrar, Zoheb Hasan, Humera Channa and Jawad Ahmed would be appearing on the show for the very first time.

The theme for Coke Studio season 7 of is ‘Sound of the Nation’ and would be ranging from traditional eastern, modern western to regionally inspired pop, rock, sufi, folk and qawalli.
