DUSHANBE: Chinese President Xi Jinping, whose state tour of Pakistan was postponed last week, said on Friday that political parties in Pakistan have the ability to resolve crises in the country, Express News reported.

In his meeting with Adviser to the Prime Minister on Foreign Affairs, Sartaz Aziz in Dushanbe, Tajikistan as part of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation summit, the Chinese president reiterated his desire to meet PM Nawaz, and to visit Pakistan.

Jinping reiterated that Pak-China friendship was “evergreen”, and also offered help for rehabilitation of victims hit by recent floods in the country that has killed over 200 people.

The Chinese president’s visit to Pakistan, scheduled for the second week of September, was postponed after his security team failed to provide clearance in the wake of protests in Islamabad's red zone.

Jinping is in Tajikistan to attend the 14th summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation leaders’ meeting.
