Judge finds Pistorius guilty of culpable homicide

PRETORIA: In a new development, South African Judge Thokozile Masipa on Friday found Oscar Pistorius guilty of culpable homicide, after he was cleared of intentionally murdering girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp.

On the charge of murder, Masipa said, "the accused is found not guilty and is discharged, instead he is found guilty of culpable homicide."

Earlier, thejudge acquitted Pistorius on a charge of discharging a firearm from a sunroof of a moving vehicle.


"This court's conclusion is the state has failed to establish that the accused is guilty beyond reasonable doubt of this count and has to be acquitted," she said.
