Bet on your leader: PTI worker loses bike over bet on PM’s resignation

Monday was the deadline for the bet

MULTAN:
A bet over whether Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf protests would force Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to resign has left a PTI worker short of a motorcycle that he had to hand over to a Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz worker as winnings.

In the third week of August, Bakht Ali Pathan, a PTI worker from Jatoi, Muzaffargarh, bet PML-N worker Tariq Chaara that Sharif would resign in two weeks.  They decided that if Sharif did not resign, Pathan would buy Chaara a motorcycle worth Rs100,000 or, in case he couldn’t arrange  the money, surrender his own motorcycle, a 125cc Honda motorcycle, to him. If Chaara lost the bet he would have to buy bricks worth Rs100,000 for Pathan’s under construction house in Jatoi.

Monday was the deadline for the bet and Sharif’s decision not to resign made Chaara the proud new owner of Pathan’s motorcycle. Pathan, upset because of the situation and the loss of his bike has resigned from the PTI. He told The Express Tribune that he was done with the political drama.
