Education for all: Literacy Day today

LAHORE: The Literacy and Non Formal Basic Education Department will celebrate International Literacy Day at the Children’s Library Complex on Tuesday (today).The event will be held at 2pm.

L&NFBE Department Secretary Dr Pervez Ahmad Khan will speak about the department’s plans to address literacy targets set the year. Representatives from the United Nations Children’s Fund, the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation and Japanese International Cooperation Agency will also be present at the ceremony. The event will also be open to students and educators. Education Minister Rana Mashhood Ahmad Khan and Chief Minister’s Adviser on Literacy Rai Haider Ali will be the chief guest.
