Towards holy land: First Hajj flight takes off from Multan

A PIA spokesman said the PIA had so far carried over 17,800 pilgrims to Saudi Arabia on 48 flights.

Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) first Hajj flight from Multan for Saudi Arabia took off on Monday.


Aviation Secretary and PIA Chairman Muhammad Ali Gardezi saw the pilgrims off at Multan Airport.


A PIA spokesman said the PIA had so far carried over 17,800 pilgrims to Saudi Arabia on 48 flights.


He said the PIA had carried 3,161 pilgrims from Karachi to Saudi Arabia through 10 flights, 3,991 from Lahore through nine flights, 4,787 from Islamabad through 10 flights, 3,066 people from Quetta with 10 flights and 2,479 pilgrims were carried from Peshawar through eight flights to Saudi Arabia.
