Home at last: CPLC, AVCC rescue kidnapped person

CPLC officials said that the victim was recovered from Jacobabad.

The Citizens Police Liaison Committee (CPLC), in collaboration with the Anti-Violent Crime Cell claim to have rescued a person from the captivity of kidnappers on Monday.


CPLC officials said that the victim was recovered from Jacobabad. The victim, Niaz Muhammad, a resident of Yasrab Goth, Super Highway, had been kidnapped while he was on the way to Sehwan a couple of months ago. The kidnappers had called his family and demanded Rs1 million in ransom.

Subsequently, the family had registered a complaint with the CPLC. The committee's chief Ahmed Chinoy said that they had used all ground and technical resources to rescue the victim, adding that an offer of Rs0.5 million was made to the kidnappers to set up a trap.

The latter had chosen Jacobabad as the site for the delivery of the ransom amount. Chinoy said that the AVCC and CPLC officials managed to rescue the victim without paying any ransom and also claimed to have arrested one of the kidnappers.
